Ngā Tangata Tiaki o Whanganui is the organisation that cares for the Whanganui River on behalf of its people. Set up under the Te Awa Tupua Act 2017, it represents the river as a living being, protects its health and wellbeing, and works with the community and agencies to support the river’s future.
